Towards the end of the Showa era, the steam locomotive C57 Yamaguchi running on the Yamaguchi Line was, for many, their last memory of a steam locomotive.

This product is a large 1/50 scale plastic model kit released by the model manufacturer OTAKI during the Showa period. It is now out of production, and the number of unbuilt kits remaining is decreasing year by year.

The voluminous modeling, which faithfully reproduces the power of the actual locomotive in scale, possesses a presence unique to models of that era. Many people collect this model not just as a model railroad, but as a three-dimensional artifact preserving Showa-era railway culture.

This item is unbuilt, with the main parts kept in their original bags. The instructions and decals are also included. The outer box has age-related scuffs and damage, but please understand this as the characteristic texture of a Showa-era model.
