Vintage Rare 1989 Rawcliffe Pewter Hummingbird Filigree Jar Lid Potpourri Decor

A rare vintage 1989 pewter lid by Rawcliffe, pierced in an openwork filigree pattern with hummingbirds and blossoms. This style of lid was typically used to cover a potpourri jar or similar vessel, letting fragrance through the filigree, though it works just as well as a decorative topper, a candle or trinket jar lid, or simply as a standalone decorative accent. The Rawcliffe Pewter Corporation was founded in 1903 in North Providence, Rhode Island and began producing its own ornaments and giftware in 1974; the line was discontinued after the company wound down, which makes surviving vintage pieces increasingly collectible.
