This is a bolt of kimono fabric (tanmono) made of silk, featuring a traditional Kowatari Sarasa Sandai Sarukatsu (Third Generation Sarukatsu) floral pattern. It is a komon (small pattern) bolt with characteristic gray and white hues.
It is an old item. I believe it was purchased to be tailored. The lining fabric (dōura) and skirt lining (hakkake) were included together.
Since it is silk, I think it would make a lovely dress. I have checked the entire bolt, and there appear to be no moth holes or stains. However, as it is an old item, there is some sun fading visible on the edge of the fabric, as shown in the photos.
